A primary goal of osteopathic treatment is to build functional reserve.

After each treatment, therapeutic momentum tends to increase, helping a person become more in touch with their health. As that connection grows, it can become easier to recognize which activities help maintain and nurture a deeper relationship with wellness.

Aboriginal people, including the ancient Bushmen of Africa portrayed in the books of Laurens Vanderpost, had a profound connection with the natural world. This kind of connection offers a reminder that health is not separate from the environment around us.

Connection to nature and healing

Nature, Healing & Service

Early osteopaths practicing in the late 19th century also had a much deeper connection to Mother Nature than many people do today. In modern life, it can be harder to make time to get outside, but returning to nature regularly can be well worth the effort.

As doorways to healing continue to open in succession, it often becomes easier to focus on the things one truly loves to do. Osteopathy is a service-oriented profession, and ideally, over time, we find work and activities we love that also serve humanity.
